UL Sudden Pressure Loss & Creep Test

UL Test:

Tools are set at the position generating the maximum spreading force. The tool is subjected to a test load 1.1 times the maximum measured spreading force and the pressure supply hose is disconnected. The tool shall sustain the load and the creep shall not exceed 1/8" after 1 minute and 3/16" after 10 minutes.

NFPA Test:

Tools are set at the position generating the highest spreading force (HSF). The tool is subjected to a test load equal to the HSF and the pressure supply hose is disconnected. The tool shall sustain the load and the creep shall not exceed 5mm (3/16") after 9 minutes.  Tools are set at the position generating the maximum pulling force. The tool is subjected to a test load 1.1 times the maximum measured pulling force and the pressure supply hose is disconnected.  The tool shall sustain the load and the creep shall not exceed 1/8" after 1 minute and 3/16" after 10 minutes.  Tools are set at the position generating the highest pulling force (HPF). The tool is subjected to a test load equal to the HPF and the pressure supply hose is disconnected.  The tool shall sustain the load and the creep shall not exceed 5mm (3/16") after 9 minutes.
